Graduate Package Center Registration

If you wish to utilize the Graduate Package Center, you must register by completing the online registration form. The registration form is also used to identify co-residents that would like to use the Graduate Package Center for inbound packages. The registration form will request a SUNet and a system generated pin will be sent to your Stanford email. Enter the pin in the provided field to review and/or make changes to your registration profile. After submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation email from the Package Center staff which includes your personalized mailing address. A notification email will be sent to the registered recipient of each package received at the Graduate Package Center. Packages sent to the Package Center prior to registering for the service will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender. The online registration form can be found here:

Graduate Package Center Guidelines

  • Due to packages arriving throughout the morning, your package(s) may not be available for pickup until after 1PM.  Packages are not available for pickup during non-operating hours and during University holidays.
  • The Graduate Package Center mailing address is for packages only.  Letters, catalogs and magazines should continue to be addressed to your residential address.  These items will be returned to sender upon arrival at the Graduate Package Center.
  • The Graduate Package Center does not have any refrigerated storage facility.  Any perishable shipments sent to the Graduate Package Center will be returned to sender.
  • Packages that are not picked up after 8 business days will be returned to sender and it will be the recipient’s responsibility to contact the shipper to reschedule delivery.
  • If a package is damaged at the time of arrival, FedEx Office will work with carriers to include a notification of “Damaged Package on Arrival.”  In the event of a missing or damaged package, FedEx Office is only liable for matters occurring while the package is in FedEx Office's custody, and in any case, FedEx Office's liability is limited to the same extent as the carrier's liability under the terms and conditions of the carrier's shipping/transportation agreement with the shipper.
  • Any package received that does not belong to a registered user will be returned to sender.

Student Package Notifications

FedEx Office will notify students via email of incoming packages received that follow the shipping address standards.  This notification will be sent from FedEx Office regardless of the carrier.  The SUNet ID will serve as the student’s unique identifier for all incoming packages.  Failure to include the SUNet ID will result in no notification from FedEx Office when a package is received or the package may be returned to sender if unclaimed after 8 days. A first and last name match will be used as the unique identifier for registered co-residents that do not have a SUNet ID.

Email notifications sent directly from the carrier indicate the package has been delivered to FedEx Office; however your package may not be available immediately for pickup due to additional processing requirements.  To avoid any delays, it is best to wait for the FedEx Office notification before proceeding to the package center.  If you receive a carrier notification, but do not receive a FedEx Office notification, please contact the Graduate Package Center to inquire about the pickup status of your package.

FedEx Office Package Lookup Tool

Students can utilize the FedEx Office package lookup feature before proceeding to the package center to retrieve their packages.  Using the package lookup feature is very easy, access the package lookup link below and type in the complete tracking number for your package.  If there is a match, your package is ready for pickup at the graduate package center.

Best Practices/FAQ:

Include your SUNet on every package.  Even if you are ordering something from an online store, including your SUNet will allow FedEx Office to properly process your package and notify you via email when the package is ready to be picked up from one of our locations.

Do not attempt to pick up your package when you receive the carrier delivery confirmation.  After receiving packages, FedEx Office must process each package into our tracking system.  This process links each package to a student, it also sends out a parcel notification from FedEx Office when your package is ready to be picked up.

How long will FedEx Office hold my package?
FedEx Office will hold your parcel for 5 business days before initiating the returns process.  If you are unable to pick up your package in this time-frame, please contact the center directly to make alternate pickup arrangements.  Please note that FedEx Office has limited storage space and is not equipped to store items long term.

Can I use the Graduate Package Center or Tresidder Package Center to receive USPS mail?
FedEx Office will accept accountable parcels from the USPS, however mail should not be sent to these parcel locations as it will not be delivered by the USPS.  Please use your graduate residence address or your PO Box address to receive USPS mail.

Do I need to register to use the parcel services?
The Graduate Package Center requires registration prior to shipping packages.  The registration process allows for other co-residents to be identified and enrolled to receive parcel notifications.  The use of the Tresidder Package Center does not require registration; however the addressing standards must be followed exactly.

Lost or Damaged Packages
If a package arrives damaged, FedEx Office will work with the applicable carrier to attempt to include a notification of “Damaged Package on Arrival.”  FedEx Office is responsible only for package damage or loss that is the result of the sole negligence of FedEx Office and that occurs while the package is in FedEx Office's custody; further, FedEx Office's maximum liability is limited to the same extent as the carrier's liability under the terms and conditions of the carrier's shipping/transportation agreement with the shipper.  Any visible damage should first be reported to the customer service department of the applicable shipper/carrier.
